Chapter 1: The In-Between World -Page 4-

Gong!

A deep bell rang through the Third Subdivision, where Tuck and his team were stationed. Tuck instinctively tensed. Before the monster was teleported in, they had to be fully prepared for treatment. What kind of injuries would it have? What kind of pain would it be suffering from?—For Tuck, this moment always came with a wave of anxiety.

"They’ll be here any second. Let’s hurry."

Lucy called out while swiftly taking out her alchemical tools. She was preparing multiple remedies, ensuring they could handle any condition. These healing medicines were a type of Dream Item—special substances imbued with powers that couldn’t exist in the real world.

"Alright, I’m almost done."

Tuck replied briefly as he continued working. Almost simultaneously, the treatment platform began to glow with an intense light.

"Puu…nii…"

A weak voice murmured as Drapunii appeared on the treatment platform, its body covered in severe burns.

"These burns are bad. First, we’ll disinfect the wounds, then apply Scarcura."

Lucy quickly assessed the situation and issued instructions. Scarcura was a powerful salve capable of instantly healing wounds like cuts and burns. However, for it to work effectively, the affected area had to be completely clean.

"I’ll prepare the Scarcura, so in the meantime, clean around the burns and make sure to disinfect them properly."

"Understood."

Tuck carefully examined Drapunii’s wounds, gently wiping away debris and meticulously disinfecting the affected areas. If applied correctly, Scarcura would heal the burns instantly. However, if any dirt or bacteria remained in the wound, it could have the opposite effect. That’s why he handled the process with the utmost care.

Despite the pain, Drapunii smiled at Tuck. Its kind gaze seemed to say, It’s okay, I’ll be fine.

"Drapunii, you’re really strong. This must hurt so much."

Tuck couldn’t help but smile back, speaking softly to reassure the creature.

"Just hold on a little longer. I’ll have you healed in no time."
